Mountain View generally does not require discretionary design review for a code-compliant single-family home, but certain properties and projects receive additional Planning review, including some historic homes, nonconforming properties, and larger lots adjacent to creeks. The City also identifies project thresholds that can trigger additional Public Works, green-building, utility, or fire-sprinkler requirements.
